Li Xinmo was born in 1976 in Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province, China. She graduated from Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 2008. Using a variety of media including performance, painting, video, and writing, her artwork explores memory, dreams, and the subconscious workings of the human psyche. Her works address gender, identity, and ecology in meaningful and nuanced ways.<\/span><\/p>\n Her prolific and constantly evolving body of work has been exhibited in art museums throughout the world, such as at the National Museum of World Culture (V\u00e4rldskulturmuseet, Gothenburg, Sweden) and the Bonn Women’s Museum (Germany). Li also participated in the Toronto Biennial of Art in Canada and the China-Europe International Art Biennale of Prague.<\/span><\/p>\n Her works have been collected by the Museum of East Asian Antiquities (\u00d6stasiatiska museet, Stockholm, Sweden), Teda Contemporary Art Museum, as well as by collectors in the UK, Germany, Switzerland, and Singapore.
