Academic curation
Through an academic exhibition, the curator explains the academic value behind the artwork, allowing artists and works from different cultures to be displayed and exchanged, and this cross-cultural exchange helps to break down cultural barriers and promote understanding and respect between different cultures.
Artwork is the carrier of the artist’s emotion, an exhibition is an important bridge for emotion transmission
A professional curator can convey the intrinsic value of the artwork and the artist’s creative concept to the audience through professional display design, thus triggering the audience’s empathy and stimulating their artistic emotions.

Or is it Second NatureOr is it Second Nature explores contemporary art from the perspective of affective geography, mapping how emotions and cognition empower artists and audiences to navigate their natural, cultural, and spiritual environments.
Or is it Second Nature presents case studies of eleven artists: Shu Qun (舒群), Qiu Zhijie (邱志杰), Tian Ye (田野), Li Zhanyang (李占洋), Zhang Xiaotao (张小涛), Li Chuan (李川), Qiu Anxiong (邱岸雄), Li Tingwei (李亭葳), Chen Weicai (陈伟才), as well as Alois & Ling Nimmervol (阿路易斯&琳·力迈尔佛), focusing on natural, cultural, aesthetic, and affective geographic elements within their artwork.
Viewers of artworks in Or is it Second Nature are encouraged to first and foremost feel the artwork, then make sense of who created them, materials used, and what information passes through sight, sound, spatial negation, time, and touch.

BIOS: Emboded EnvironmentsBIOS: Embodied Environments presents piantings, multi-media artworks, installation, video, and performances by three generations of ecologically-oriented artists.
BIOS exhibition is about elemental gestalt, and by inviting Dai Guangyu to contribute his genius
to that of five exceptional women, we may more fully experience the magic of interaction between polarities.

“Geographies of Feeling” - A Parallel Exhibition of 2023 Chengdu BiennaleDr. Sophia Kidd curated and presented “Geographies of Feeling”, a parallel exhibition to the 2023 Chengdu Biennale, inviting Zhu Cheng, He Gong, and Dai Guangyu, three master artists who have made great achievements in their respective fields, and seven new generation artists, Hu Jiayi, Pu Yingwei, Tong Wenmin, Wang Zifan, Wang Yanxin, Wang Zheng and Zhu Ming to discuss the relationship between these ten artists and the local art ecology.

WE OFFER
1. Exhibition Academic Counseling

Write a complete curatorial essay (with a word count of more than 2,000 words) and submit it to Party A for examination and approval, and Party B permits Party A to translate the curatorial essay and Party A has the right to publish it in the exhibition catalogue produced and distributed by Party A, and to use the aforesaid curatorial essay for academic purposes, publicity of the exhibition, promotion and publication of the exhibition; Party B holds the copyright of the essay, and can use the essay as its own work within the scope of this agreement. Party B holds the copyright of the article and may use it as its own work within the scope of this agreement for publicity, academic and commercial purposes.

Public education activities for exhibition planning, responsible for assisting Party A’s Public Utilities Department in conducting one guided tour and participating in at least two of Party A’s seminars, symposiums, lectures, and other related public activities.
2. Artist communication and coordination

Provide an exhibition planning proposal that includes an overview of the curatorial concept, a suggested list of participating artists, contact information for invited artists, a concept of the exhibit layout, a list of the works to be exhibited, a list of equipment needed for the exhibits, suggestions for related publicity and promotion, and suggestions for publication.

Responsible for coordinating and liaising with the participating artists identified by Party A on the progress and planning of the production of the exhibited works, assisting Party A in coordinating and communicating with the artists on the execution of the exhibition, and confirming the schedule and progress of the completion of the works’ entry and setup. Party A has the final decision on the participating artists and works.
3. Assisting in the exhibition program

Assist Party A in completing the organization of Chinese and English textual materials related to the artist’s works at the exhibition site (including but not limited to the artist’s personal introduction, introduction of the artist’s works, the artist’s creative concepts, and other related content)

Prepare on-site documentation for the exhibition (including, but not limited to, books, magazines, newspapers, interviews, text records, video images and other finished documents), and Party B shall assist Party A in completing the on-site documentation plan, list, overview and structure of the on-site documentation display in the format of Microsoft Word documents.
